Hypnosis done correctly is one of the most effective methods for changing the way that you think. Thoughts lead to emotions and emotions lead to feelings which in turn lead to behaviors. So if your behaviors are out of sync with your intentions, perhaps learning a bit more about effective hypnosis might be the right …

Hello,
I would like to inquire about your successes with and your thoughts on hypnosis and chronic (intractable) migraine without aura.
Best,
Kelly

Hi Kelly,
Migraines, and any medically diagnosed condition can be helped using hypnosis as long as I get a physician’s referral. In all medical situations, organic issues must first be ruled out. What I do when I help you with your problem is to teach your mind and body a new way to respond to stimuli that could be causing the problem in the first place. Those stimuli might just be your responses to the real world, like responses to stress, boredom, or some other feeling state.
A medical examination needs to determine whether there is a physical problem that needs to be addressed prior to removing the signal. The pain from migraines can be seen as a signal that there is something wrong physically. To get further information you can call me at 212 223-1832

Hello. Are hypnosis sessions guaranteed to work with anyone, specially if the person wants to rid themselves of a particular social phobia?
Thanks.

Hi Michael,
As a rule, Doctors don’t guarantee what they do will work, surgeons don’t guarantee their procedure will solve your problem, medicine isn’t guaranteed to be effective, and likewise, I can’t guarantee that the treatment I provide you will work exactly the way you want it to. In other words, it’s impossible for me to guarantee your behavior, and some would consider that unethical as well.
However, I can guarantee that you will be pleased with our work together or I will work with you until you are, with certain limitations.
I hope that answers your question. If you care to discuss what you want to accomplish you can call me at 212 223-1832.

Hi Michael,
I am an adult who still cannot swallow a pill. I have tried everything and I would really like to conquer this. Would hypnotherapy be able to help with this?
Best,
Mary

Hi Mary,
Thanks for your question.
A simple answer would be yes. If the reason you have difficulty with swallowing is because it is a learned response like all the other clients I’ve seen for this problem, and not some physical abnormality, then you should be able to learn the physical response to swallowing pills that you want.
I have found that my clients that came to me for this problem had the reaction to a thought that manifested whenever they were preparing to take a pill. This thought turned into a feeling with the resulting tightness of the esophagus.
This type of response can be unlearned and the proper way of swallowing a pill can become habituated. You are already able to swallow much larger items than pills when you normally eat food, so this is just a matter of re-training your physical responses.
I hope that helps.
